About us

The kidney registry is sponsored by the Lebanon Society of Nephrology and Hypertension, with endorsement of the Ministry of Health in Lebanon and the World Health Regional office. Data collection, analysis and publications are performed by a neutral research group to ensure complete confidentiality of individual patient and hospital information. In first year, hemodialysis data only will be collected. Peritoneal dialysis, pediatric data and transplantation will be added by end of 3rd year.

A Scientific Committee supervises the research program and the registry. The committee is formed of 12 members:

  • Two members representing the society: the president and the designated registry principle investigator.
  • Seven nephrologists, one from each of the 7 medical schools in Lebanon. The university representative is appointed by the Dean of the medical school.
  • President of the pan-Arab pediatric nephrology association in Lebanon (PAPNA-Lebanon).
  • A representative from the ministry of health.
  • A representative from the independent research group operating the registry and the research program.
